Business is important to people because business is what drives an economy. business in all of its aspects is what people rely on to feed their families. Very few people in the world are self sufficient so almost everyone relies on business in some form and to some extent. Business can be as basic and simple as barter between two people for the exchange of goods or business can be as complex as trading between two distant countries involving thousands of people and amounting to billions of dollars.
Business can mean one person alone making items with his own hands for sale to his neighbors or business can mean a giant multinational company manufacturing a complex machine from parts that have been assembled from all over the globe. Business doesn’t just mean making and selling things. Business services exist all over the world. Businesses need many services in order to conduct their affairs. Business services like accounting, legal services, financial planning and management, marketing and advertising are a huge business in and of themselves.
Business is being conducted around the clock all over the world. At any time of the day or night, business is being conducted somewhere. Business is occurring right near you and far, far away from you. All types of businesses are buying, selling, manufacturing, servicing people’s needs, wants and desires. There are any number of businesses a person could get into. The type of business you are involved in depends upon your educational level and upon your interests and skills. The vast array of potential businesses is really quite staggering. These days, everything is a business. Education is a business. Entertainment is a business. Law is a business, Politics is a business. Human relations is a business. Communications is a business. Art is a business. War is a business. Science is a business. Everything is a business where people can make and sell things. The whole world is involved in a vast interlocking, interdependent business venture.
Business can be a family affair and traditionally, the family business has often been passed down through the generations. Whether it is a business that is a trade that grandparent taught parent, taught child and so on or a retail business that children grow up on site and begin to help out when they are young and eventually inherit when their parents are too old to continue in the family business. Or the business might be a medical practice that daughter and granddaughter all go to school for and join as the family grows. There are many benefits to creating and sustaining a family business and the most obvious is that the business keeps the family together. So business isn’t just about work, it can be about family too.
